Ugly Betty to help pay off Hillary Clinton's debts

Ugly Betty's America Ferrera has agreed to help clear Hillary Clinton's campaign debts.

The actress, who campaigned for Hillary during her Democrat nomination bid, will host an event in New York City later this month; ticket sales from which are hoped to decrease the sizeable $7.5million which Clinton owes to consultants and other firms and individuals who worked on her campaign.

The last-minute nature of the event came about because Clinton will not be able to solicit campaign funds once she takes up the position of Secretary of State in Obama's cabinet; a law prohibits cabinet members from personally raising funds, even if it is to pay off previous campaigning debts.

Appearing alongside Ferrera and Hillary at the Manhattan Centre Studios event, will be 'special guest' Bill Clinton.
