Coldplay lead Grammy nominees list
By Carla Bevan on Thursday 4 December 2008
Coldplay, Radiohead, Duffy, Leona Lewis and Adele will be carrying British hopes across the Atlantic at next year's Grammy Awards after all winning nominations at yesterday's Grammy launch.
In keeping with the profile of the world's most important music award show, the unveiling of the nominees was no ordinary press conference, featuring as it did live performances from Mariah Carey, the Foo Fighters and Celine Dion.
The biggest award of the night – Album of the Year – will be hotly contested with Coldplay, Radiohead, Lil Wayne, Ne-Yo and Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, who collaborated on the album Raising Sand, all in the running.
