Kevin Federline on Britney divorce

Kevin Federline has spoken out about his divorce from Britney Spears, after the singer's very candid MTV documentary aired earlier this week.

The dancer-turned-wrestler who has two sons with Britney revealed he was completely in the dark when his ex-wife filed for divorce.

Speaking to People magazine, Federline admitted: 'We were having complications. I didn't give her an ultimatum, but I was trying to work stuff out with her, and she didn't even talk to me or anything and went behind my back and filed [for divorce]. [I was] completely blindsided.'

Despite the 30-year-old's revelations over how the pair accepted the breakdown of their relationship, Federline remained positive about his feelings for Britney, since she is the mother to his two sons, Preston, 3, and Jayden, 2.

'Just because I'm not in love with her doesn't mean that I don't love her. I'm definitely rooting for her.'

The singer has turned her life around since the beginning of the year when she was hospitalized, following a very public breakdown. With TV performances, the release of a new album and an announcement of tour dates next year, it seems the once ailing star is back on track.

However, Federline confesses he was deeply concerned the night police were called to Britney's home in January to settle a custody dispute.

'You want to talk about one of my lowest points of depression, that was probably one of them. I was very, very worried for her because I care about her. That's the mother of my children,' he said.

Appearing on this week's cover of People magazine looking ever the family man with both sons in tow, K-Fed insisted Britney's life is now on the up.

'It's totally turning around,' he said. 'It works out that [the kids] get to see her. There's structure over there, there's structure at my house.'
