Madonna sad over personal life

Madonna has spoken for the first time on her divorce from Guy Ritchie, admitting 'I'm sad.'

The material girl issued a statement to the Associated Press where she broke her silence on the split, which went public in October.

'I'm sad about my personal life, but I feel very blessed and very lucky that I have the opportunity to do what I do in my professional life.'

'It would be horrible if I was just thinking about getting a divorce and had nothing to do,' she added.

The singer is currently continuing her Sticky & Sweet tour, and has relocated to New York, while her ex-husband is living in London, and shooting his latest movie, Sherlock Holmes.

The couple were granted a preliminary 'quickie' divorce last Friday, which will be finalised in six weeks time. Madonna cited Ritchie's unreasonable behavior for the cause behind the split, in a sworn statement presented to the court.

It is now believed that their sons Rocco, 8, and David, 3, will split their time between London and New York, while Madonna's daughter Lourdes will live full time in the US with her mother.
