Gordon Ramsay accused of affair
By Lucy Hutchings on Monday 24 November 2008
Gordon Ramsay put on a brave face yesterday, following accusations that he has conducted a seven-year affair.
The TV chef posed for waiting press at his South London home, making a display of unity with wife Tana. Neither alluded to the story, which had broken that morning across the front page of the News of the World.
The tabloid accused Ramsay of having an affair with Sarah Symonds, and claimed that the pair met at the London Marriott hotel last week for the latest in a string of secret trysts.
It added that the affair began in 2001, and that Ramsay met up with Symonds regularly in LA while he filmed the US version of his television show.
Miss Symonds, branded a 'professional mistress', previously admitted to a year-long affair with former MP and author Jeffrey Archer.
She has even written a book on the subject, entitled, Having An Affair? A Handbook For The Other Woman, which she publicised during an interview on the Oprah Winfrey show.
In one extract, she wrote, 'A friend of mine was having an affair with a world-famous TV chef, well-known on both sides of the Atlantic for both his bad language and his good food.
'He complained to my friend that things weren't going well between him and his wife and that he was being made to sleep in the basement.
'Later that day, whilst passing a news stand, she was flabbergasted to see her MM's [married man's] face all over a top glossy weekly magazine, along with his wife and the latest addition to their growing brood. The article focused on "how strong" their marriage was.'
Ramsay has been married to wife Tana for twelve years, and the couple have four children together, all under the age of nine.
The chef has built his hugely successful empire on the image of a devout family man, and was named Celebrity Father Of The Year in 2006, while in 2007 the Ramsays were named Celebrity Family of the Year.
No one from the chef's camp is yet to comment on the story, with his spokesman Gary Farrow stating, 'We are not saying anything at all, we are just getting on with it - me, him, Tana, we are all getting on with it.'
It is rumoured that Ramsay feels set up by the story, and may even take legal action.

silly silly woman, even if it were true which I personally doubt, what does she aim to gain from this nonsense. To destroy some other womans life perhaps. A woman who has done no harm to anybody I might add. She wants locking up.

The media should not be allowed to issue this statement about Ramsey UNLESS they have concrete proof that Gordan Ramsey has had this affair as claimed. If they are just making a story without foundation, then the paper should issue out an appology to the Ramsey household with a huge cheque to Charity and not allowed to disclose information like this again.
The media should think about the children in this case before they print should alegations. I hope that they are unfounded and GR sues the pants off this particular news paper.

I heard these rumours years ago, via a good friend who had worked with Mr Ramsey. I was wondering how long it would take before it became public knowledge.

Sorry, I don't believe this for a mintute.
Gordon did not come down in the last rainfall, he's not that stupid.
These poor kids will be tormented about this in school and get upset because the NOTW just want to sell more papers.
The Ramseys marriage seems rock solid and has never been under scrutiny. So all of a sudden, this woman turns up out of the blue with a 7 year affair??? What, with all the paprazzi who follow Gordon's every move? Not a chance.
I hope Gordon sues and wins.

Urmmm hang on Cath, it's not Symonds who's trying to destroy another women, it's his responsibility - he's the married one.
Why is it ALWAYS the women who get the blame?

I'm sure that the paper is 100% sure of their facts given that if there was any doubt on their part then they would be on the receiving end of a huge libel settlement. How could he be so stupid to think that he could get away with given his high public profile. I bet this is one "Kitchen Nightmare" he'll want to sort out ASAP!

I do not care what Gordon Ramsay does.
His wife Tana will sort him out, her own way.
