Britney:I married for wrong reasons

Britney Spears has admitted that her failed marriage to Kevin Federline was 'for the wrong reasons'.

The 26-year-old star married Kevin in 2004 but just two years – and two children later – she filed for divorce.

'I think I married for the wrong reasons. Instead of following my heart and doing something that made me really happy, I just did it for the idea of everything,' she reveals.

Britney makes the confession during a candid 90-minute documentary about her life, Britney: For the Record.

Britney met Kevin, 30, when he was a backing dancer on one of her tours. At the time, his ex-girlfriend Shar Jackson was seven months pregnant with the couple's second child.

Just five months after they met, Britney and Kevin were married, but she now admits that their relationship was not the wisest decision she ever made.

During the revealing documentary, Britney also says her life feels 'like Groundhog Day' without any freedom since her father took over her affairs in February.

However, the pop star also says dancing helps her deal with the tough situations in her life.

'If I have a lot of nervous energy, when I start dancing, it all goes away and I just feel emotion,' she admits.

'It's like a roller coaster. People think that when you go through something in life, you have to go to therapy. For me, art is therapy, because it's like you're expressing yourself in such a spiritual way.'

The documentary is due to be shown on Sky1 on December 1. Britney's new album, Circus, is due to be released the next day, on the singer's 27th birthday.

I love Britney Spears and always have. When she was going through all the bad turmoil I just wanted to give her a hug and tell her I was there for her.... We all go through bad times it's just unfortunate that's her are never private.
