Winona taken ill on London flight

Winona Ryder

Winona Ryder was taken to a hospital in west London after she fell ill on a transatlantic flight.

The actress was on route from Los Angeles to Heathrow when she became unwell. The captain requested a priority landing to get the star medical attention as soon as possible.

Winona was treated for an unidentified illness by ambulance staff at Heathrow as soon as her plane touched down on Wednesday lunchtime.

The Oscar-nominated actress was then rushed to nearby Hillingdon Hospital.

A spokesman for British Airways said, 'The captain of BA282, which was travelling from LA to Heathrow, requested a priority landing as a female passenger required medical attention.

'The passenger was taken to a local hospital for treatment.'

BA crew members looked after the 37-year-old during the flight, while BA ground staff went with her to hospital.

Winona's publicist confirmed the actress had fallen ill and said she was discharged a few hours later.

Mara Buxbaum said: 'She did fall ill on a plane and as a precautionary measure they took her to hospital. She was there for an hour. She's in good health. There's no drama.'

The actress was coming to London to film the new Star Trek movie. She stars with Simon Pegg and Eric Bana in the sci-fi flick.
