Kylie Minogue kicks off her KylieX2008 world tour in Paris

Aussie pop princess Kylie Minogue has been chosen to host the Brit Awards early next year.

She will be joined on stage by Gavin And Stacey stars James Corden and Matt Horne.

Kylie, 40, will present the live show in February, a year after she won Best International Female Solo Artist.

A source told The People that the Brit bosses hope 2009 will be the best year yet.

'The organisers think Kylie will have great chemistry with James and Matt and go down a storm. Kylie is a superstar and greatly respected in the music industry,' the source revealed.

The glitzy event was hosted by Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne in 2008, while Russel Brand caused controversy the year before with some typically outspoken comments.

He referred to a fireworks display as 'a pyrotechnic show to put the Twin Towers to shame'.

The worst Brits is universally agreed to be the show in 1989, hosted by Samantha Fox and Mick Fleetwood.

The pair bungled so many links and fluffed numerous lines from a dodgy autocue that the ceremony was no longer shown live. It wasn’t until 2007 that organisers felt secure enough to broadcast the award show as it happened.

We’re sure Kylie would never do anything to embarrass herself or her fans!

I hear the Pet SHop Boys will be given a lifetime achievement award.
Perhaps Guy Ritchie can present best international female award, and read out the nominations!!!!
