X Factor star Rachel Hylton has overcome many troubles in her life, but it seems the singer is still fighting against adversity.

Bosses of the hit talent show are said to be stunned after learning that Rachel’s brother has been charged with murder.

Her brother Khyrie, 17 is accused of stabbing an alleged love rival while wearing a Scream mask.

A source from the show told The Sun that the news was a ‘bolt out of the blue’.

‘We knew Rachel’s mum was never keen on her coming on X Factor but Rachel was determined to come on. All we can do is stand by Rachel,’ the source said.

Rachel was interviewed by police attempting to establish were her brother was when Yusufu Miiro was killed in July.

She's a bit of a rough girl, but everyone needs a break. She's talented, but needs some grooming. This chance could get her and her kids away from this kind of life and try and better herself. You can't choose your family.

I wish people would support her.
She has already been judged and served her time. She has put her hands up and admitted her past mistakes. She should be allowed a clean slate. I wish her lots of luck in the competition.
