Beyoncé Knowles has never publicly admitted her rumoured marriage to rap guru Jay-Z, but she has now talked about her fears on tying the knot too young.

The singer, 27, says she wanted to really know herself before deciding to get married.

'Before the age of 25, I would never get married. I feel like you have to get to know yourself, know what you want, spend some time by yourself, and be proud of who you are before you can share that with someone else,' she told Seventeen magazine.

Beyoncé also admits that she wanted to be sure of her feelings.

'I was 18 when we first met, 19 when we first started dating. There was no rush. I really don't believe that you will love the same thing when you're 20 as you do at 30.'

The singer, whose new double album I Am… Sasha Fierce is released on Monday, says she has learned a lot from her hip-hop legend of a husband, Jay-Z.

'I don't care if you're picture-perfect on every magazine cover, and you're the most handsome, successful, coolest guy; you still get sad, and you still get your feelings hurt, and you still get confused and vulnerable and nervous and scared. You have to find a person you can make it through the tough times with,' she reveals.

In a separate interview with The Times, the big-voiced star says she is incredibly proud of Jay-Z's appearance at Glastonbury this year – and she now wants her own spot at the festival.

She says, 'I'd never seen so many people. It was something I would definitely love to do myself one day. I knew that everybody would love Glastonbury, you know?'

We'd love to see Sasha Fierce in some blinged-up wellies next year too!
