Paula Abdul's 'stalker' found dead

Marie Claire Celebrity News: Paula Abdul

A woman who was obsessed with American Idol judge Paula Abdul has been found dead outside the star's home in Los Angeles.

The body of Paula Goodspeed, 30, was found in a car outside Abdul's house.

The number plate of Paula's car reportedly read ABL LV, which could stand for 'Abdul Love'. A picture of Abdul is also said to have been hanging from the rear-view window, while prescription drugs have allegedly been found inside the car.

A spokesman for the singer said she was 'deeply shocked and saddened' by the death. It is claimed the American Idol judge was aware of Paula's behaviour 'for some years'.

Paula's parents told police their daughter was obsessed with Abdul and suggested they check the reality star's home after they reported their daughter missing, a source told website TMZ.com.

It has also emerged that Paula was a contestant on American Idol in 2006. She failed to get through to the next round as all the judges gave her bad reviews, but she said this did not change her opinion of Abdul.

Abdul has sold more than 53 million records and became famous after a number of hits in the 1980s and 1990s.
