Kim Cattrall has confirmed what fashionistas the world over have all been desperate to know – that there definitely will be a Sex and the City: The Movie sequel.

The Brit-born actress let the news slip to Mel B, who was guest-hosting the Paul O'Grady show.

When the former Spice Girl asked her: 'Now, will there be a sequel?' Kim replied matter-of-factly: 'Yes, there will.'

The hit first film – which sold an astonishing 920,000 DVDs in its opening week – was initially delayed over rows about money.

Cattrall was rumoured to have demanded to be paid the same amount as Sarah Jessica Parker, who was paid more for the TV series due to her additional role as executive producer.

Kim admitted at the time: 'The offer [for the film] just wasn't acceptable. I felt we should all make lots of money - not just one of us.'

But the leading ladies – SJP, Kim Cattrall, Kristen Davis and Cynthia Nixon – finally agreed a fee, which was rumoured to have been in excess of £3 million.

While fans will be hugely excited to see more of man-eating Samantha, Cattrall says she doesn't share her character's sexually voracious appetite. She said: 'I'm sort of a serial monogamist. I find a guy I like and I tend to spend an awfully long time with him - five or six years. That's a very long time, in Hollywood that's forever.

'And I've been in a relationship now for about five years and everything is going well.'  

But she said Samantha was a lot of fun to play, adding: 'She's like an alter ego you know.'

We, for one, simply can't wait for the next SATC installment.

Kim Cattrall never stops!
She has been so busy this year. I keep seeing her all round the world. She is at fashion shows, openings, starring in films, I mean I just got her voice on my GPS from Navtones.com even.
