Kate Winslet denies airbrushing
Kate Winslet has rubbished accusations that she was heavily airbrushed for her revealing Vanity Fair shoot, stating that the images were not digitally slimmed down.
The actress faced a barrage of accusations in yesterday's newspapers, with The Sun pondering on its cover whether 'that magic airbrush has been at work again,' while The Daily Mail had a airbrush artist scutinise the pics, and point to areas he believed were doctored.
Now Winslet's rep has stated to People, 'Kate is furious at suggestions that her body has been airbrushed.'
They added, 'She is in terrific shape and what you see is how she looks or she would never have agreed to pose for those shots.'
The rep did admit that minor airbrushing had occurred on the images, but not to alter Kate's svelte figure, 'The only retouching was the usual work on skin tone that happens in every glamour shoot.'
Winslet admitted to airbrushing back in 2003, when GQ famously put her on the cover after doctoring the image to elongate her legs and slim down her thighs.
>At the time she told the press , 'I don't want people to think I was a hypocrite and had suddenly gone and lost 30 pounds, which is something I would never do. And more importantly I don't want to look like that.'
Vanity Fair backed up Winslet's claims that the shoot had only minimal remastering, claiming the retouching was limited to, 'Just a little smoothing of the skin tone and covering of blemishes. There was no change in the body shape. She really does look that hot.'

Isn't it sad that she had to be underweight to do these pictures at all? I always admired her for being a REAL woman, with curves and femininity! I find it disturbing that NOBODY is natural anymore, you could just as well put a barbie doll on the front cover, she's probably more real than anything we get to see on the front page of any magazine these days.
The moral of the story is lets get real. Lets show and be real. Fat bums are in and wrinkles show a woman with character and experience and cellulite means that shes the way nature intended!
I can't stand anymore of these fabricated pictures, I have tortured myself along with many women trying to fulfill the manufacture beauty expectations.

Kate has a beautiful figure which you don't actually see in this photograph at all, as the coat covers her up. All you see are her arms and legs, and these are some of the most slender areas on a female body anyway, so what is there to slim down and airbrush?!?!? She just looks damn good, that's all!

I agree that there shouldn't be a reason for women to slim down before doing a shoot like that. The beauty of a body is really down to shape, not size, and Kate has a beautiful hour glass figure anyway. I crave for more variety and natural looks in the media, and not to feel better about myself as I am not at all overweight anyway, but simply because it is more beautiful and more inspiring! I strongly dislike the gaunt skinny middle aged stars. Also Madonna would look lots hotter with a few more curves.
At least Kate's slimming down for this shoot is her own choice though, whether a good or a bad one, so I think we should respect that. And I think it's very brave of her that she has told off airbrushers in the past for making her appear slimmer than she was during that shoot.
Kate is a beautiful and inspiring woman all in all: classical feminine looks, a down to earth attitude, and truly respectable acting skills.
