Jennifer Aniston calls Owen Wilson 'brave'
Jennifer Aniston was full of praise for her Marley & Me co-star, Owen Wilson, in a recent interview – calling him 'brave'.
The kind-hearted actress had nothing but compliments for the actor, who, earlier this year, reportedly attempted suicide.
'Owen Wilson is so divine in this film,' the actress tells the LA Times. 'I've never seen him play a part like this. He was a man; he was a husband; he was a father.'
And, referring to his personal struggles, she said: 'I feel like, how brave of him, to walk through the year that he walked through.'
Wilson was rushed to hospital in 2007 after an alleged suicide attempt, and Marley & Me – a heart-warming rom-com about a family who learn life lessons from their neurotic dog – is one of his first roles since the incident.
Aniston went on to say that Wilson - who once dated Kate Hudson - was one of her favourite co-stars, adding: 'He has no temper, no ego, he's collaborative and funny and sweet.'
The 39-year-old had equally effusive words for the film and the process of making it, saying: 'When you actually can have [the finished film] be as fantastic and fulfilling as the experience itself was, it's called a home run. A creative, emotional home run. Those moments don't happen that often.'
The actress was less excited about her other co-star, Clyde the dog. She laughed: 'I walked onto the set and put my sweater and my bag down on the couch, and that dog leapt up onto the couch, grabbed my sweater and started ripping it. The set was a toy.'
And the former Mrs Brad Pitt also relished the role, concluding: 'It's a very honest portrayal of a modern marriage.
'I've never had to play that before.'
