Britney's father granted control over her affairs

Britney Spears' father, Jamie, will remain in control of his daughter's personal and financial affairs, an LA court ruled this week.

Mr Spears was named the permanent co-conservator of his daughter's estate, alongside an attorney, as well as permanent conservator of her affairs.

Speaking in court, the Toxic singer's lawyer Samuel Ingham stated that the ruling had Britney's full support.

'I've met several times with (Britney) and she requested that I not object to the permanent conservatorship,' he said.

Reva Goetz, the Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner, explained that she was granting the permanent conservatorship as Briney had been shown to be 'susceptible to undue influence,' making the conservatorship 'necessary and appropriate.'

Jamie Spears has been in charge of Britney's affairs since February, following her very public breakdown.

He will now remain in control for the indefinite future.
