Cheryl Cole is planning to renew her wedding vows with husband Ashley Cole – just two years after the pair got married.

The marriage hit a distinct rocky patch earlier this year when hairdresser Aimee Walton claimed to have slept with the football ace last December.

But, after a tumultuous year, the couple have decided to put the past behind them – and look forward to the future.

Sources have told OK! magazine that the couple are planning to renew their vows in the New Year when Cheryl finishes her stint on The X Factor.

Their original wedding was sold to the magazine for £1 million but, this time, the press won't be invited.

Cheryl told the publication: 'We're a work in progress. We're going to build our married life together, not thinking about what if it ever ends.

'I wasn't looking for a relationship when I met Ashley and certainly not a long-term one. But pretty soon after I met him I knew something was different and I knew I had never felt that before.

'He does little things now that he doesn't even know he's doing. My heart goes and I just think, God you're so perfect.'

Cheryl and Ashley married in a celebrity-packed ceremony at Wrotham Park in Hertfordshire in July 2006, just 21 months after they started dating.

Cheryl's Girls Aloud bandmates were her (very glamorous) bridesmaids, and soul singer John Legend provided the music.
