Catherine Zeta-Jones to play big-screen Cleopatra
Catherine Zeta-Jones is set to light up the big screen as Cleopatra in a new Hollywood rock 'n' roll movie version.
Steven Soderbergh, who won an Oscar for directing hit film Traffic in which Catherine also starred, is set to give the movie a modern twist by making it in 3D and changing the setting from ancient Egypt to the 1920s.
Aussie hunk Hugh Jackman is reportedly in talks to play her Roman lover Marc Anthony in the £19 million remake.
This will be the second time Catherine, 39, has starred in a silver-screen musical. The Welsh beauty won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role as Velma Kelly in the 2002 hit movie version of the West End play, Chicago.
Catherine will be following in the footsteps of Elizabeth Taylor, who famously co-starred with Richard Burton in the 1963 version of Cleopatra, which won four Oscars.
