Marie Claire News: Madonna & Guy Ritchie

Madonna has offered Guy Ritchie an extra £5 million to dictate access rights over their three children.

According to the Daily Mail, the singer has increased the lump sum cash payment he will get in the divorce from £15 million to £20 million if he backs down from a court battle over Lourdes, 12, Rocco, eight, and David Banda, three.

A source told the paper: 'Madonna has said to Guy that if she ups the money, then would he agree to her setting out the access for the children until they turn 18. What she is basically saying is that if Guy wants this to go to court, she will get what she wants anyway.

'Basically she is offering a cash incentive to him to encourage an amicable out-of-court agreement over the children. Madonna is keen to give Guy good access to the children - but on her terms.

'Guy wants the children to be educated in Britain - especially his beloved Rocco - but his lawyers will be advising him that if Madonna moves to New York and wants the children with her, a judge is likely to agree.'

Legal sources said last night that it may be a good option for Ritchie, as Madonna, being the mother and, therefore, primary carer – is likely to be allowed to take the children to live with her in New York.

Children's access is said to be the only thing the couple are at loggerheads over, with money and property all but decided upon.

Guy will get Ashcombe – their Wiltshire estate – plus cash of around £15 million. He will also get an allowance for homes in London and New York.

But friends are concerned the divorce will become more acrimonious over custody of the children, in particular the regularity of access, and the length of each access period.

How dare she - offering him money so that she can dictate what happens to THEIR children - not hers. He's well rid of her!

Madonna is so selfish - she thinks she can buy people, even her husband, with money!!! I hope Guy doesn't stoop so low as to go with this, he deserves better - and he should fight her all the way, at least for Rocco - his only child by her!!! He should be at an advantage, especially if she's always on tour - Guy should be the main carer!!! Good luck to him - he is also 10 years younger than Madonna, so technically, he should be around a lot more than his wife!!!!

If Madonna pursued her career and left Guy and nannies to care for the children, why is she considered the primary carer? Surely it is in the children's best interests to be with those that look after them regularly and that doesn't seem to be their mother?
