Britney back at No1 in US

Britney Spears is back, and if any further proof were needed, her No1 slot on America's Billboard Hot 100 chart should do it.

The mother-of-two hasn't been at the top of the charts since 1999, when her debut single, Baby, One More Time, was on serial rotation, but that all changed yesterday when Womanizer, Britney's new release, jumped from 96 to 1 on the US chart.

It's the biggest chart leap ever in the US, adding another record-breaking statistic to the singer's numerous others, and was fuelled in the main by the 286,000 digital downloads of the track; also, incidentally, a record.
