Kate Middleton in trouble
By Carla Bevan on Wednesday 15 October 2008
We've all done it - taken a quick call on our mobile while driving the car - but when you're the future Queen of England, it just won't do, which is why poor old Kate Middleton has woken up today to find her indiscretion plastered all over the front pages.
Spotted near her parents' home in Berkshire, in her Audi A3, Kate made a call as she pulled out onto a small country lane.
More than 500,000 people apparently flout the calling-while-driving ban every day in the UK, which is why new tougher legislation was brought into play earlier this year.
In fact, since April, drivers can actually face a jail sentence if caught using their mobile while driving.
'Drivers are four times more likely to crash if they are on their mobiles,' Roger Vincent, from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, told the Telegraph.
'Even though you think you are in control you are not going to be able to react as quickly to the unexpected. We would urge Kate Middleton, and others, to realise the misery that is caused. It's extremely sad, no matter who it is, that people are not getting the message.'

She, like anyone else that ignores the law, should be punished. Although she thinks she is above the law, she shouldn't be given such treatment.

oh pul-lease. Just leave the poor girl alone - she's only human even if she's going to be the queen sometimes. I'm sure there are more reckless drivers on the road who are worse but jeez they are not in the newspaper just because so.

I saw the picture in the Sun. The car was stationary at the time.

Your article starts with 'we've all done it'. I can proudly say I have NEVER taken a call while driving. It is far too dangerous. Why does everyone think they are so important these days they have to have a mobile stuck to their ear for most of the day.
