Angelina Jolie showed off her fabulous post-baby body – and a new tattoo – as she hit the red carpet on Friday in her first public appearance since giving birth to twins, Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon.

The beautiful actress looked stunning in a simple strapless Versace dress and sophisticated black Sergio Rossi peep toes at the New York premiere of her new movie The Changeling.

And she took the opportunity to show that she’s already added the birthplace co-ordinates of her twins to the tattoo detailing that of her other four children’s.

Accompanied by her boyfriend Brad Pitt, the pair looked the picture of unity and happiness, putting paid to rumours of a rift. Stories had also been rife that Angelina was suffering with post-natal depression, but there was no sign the star was troubled as she spoke animatedly about her new film – and her family.

She told People magazine: ‘Everybody’s great. The babies are getting big and healthy and developing personalities.’

When asked if she was nervous about her red carpet comeback, she replied: ‘Not nervous as much as I just took a deep breath because it's been so long. It felt a little strange.’

And how has she snapped back into shape so soon? ‘I run around with all the other kids, and I'm breastfeeding, which I think is a part of your body's recovery,’ Jolie said. ‘I feel great [and] feel very happy that they're healthy.’

Her new movie, directed by Clint Eastwood and already creating an Oscar buzz, sees her play a woman dealing with the kidnap of her son. She said of her role: ‘Your worst fear is anything happening to your kids. The reason I didn't want to do the film for a long time … every day I came home, and I was so clinging to my kids. I was grabbing them. And checking them in the night. It scares me.’

Are we sure that Angelina is breastfeeding? Tattoos are definitely not recommended if you are.

I love the way she looked in Tomb Raider. That's a classic. I read that she had a great trainer, a guru in Hollywood. I think I'm gonna try those recommendations of hers.

I don't know whether it's just me, but I used to think she was really attractive. And for some reason now....I don't. Think she's a bit odd looking really. She looks better here then she has done though, she looks really terrible when she's super skinny.

I feel she's a bit of a fake sometimes - I know when I was breastfeeding only one baby (not twins like her) - my milk flowed all the time even with breast pads! Did she go to the toilet every 10 mins to extract the milk? NO! I just don't believe these women celebrities are human at all - they're androids - or maybe they have a drug to suppress their every inconvenient action! ha ha
