Gordon Ramsay facing prosection?

Gordon Ramsay could face prosecution for failing to file accounts for his restaurant empire on time.

Accounts for Gordon Ramsay Holdings, the company that operated most of the celebrity chef's pubs and eateries, should have been filed at the end of June last year, according to Companies House.

The Government body is now getting heavy-handed with the star, and says it won't hesitate to take him to court if the papers aren't filed in the next two weeks.

A spokesman for the body told the Telegraph: 'It's a very serious matter. We are in the latter stages of correspondence, encouraging the company to file accounts in accordance with the legislation. If no satisfactory resolution is achieved this case will proceed to prosecution.'

It is not the first time the potty-mouthed chef has been in hot water over his accounts. A technicality meant he narrowly escaped being taken to court this summer for failing to file accounts at the end of June 2006.

A spokesman for Gordon Ramsay Holdings said: 'The accounts are going to be filed in two weeks' time without fail.'
