Nicole Kidman says 'fertility waters' in Australia are to thank for getting her pregnant.

The actress gave birth to her daughter, Sunday Rose in August this year – the first for her and her husband, Keith Urban.

It has been well-documented that the 41-year-old actress had spent years trying to get pregnant by her ex, Tom Cruise, before the pair chose to adopt two children, Bella and Connor.

Speaking to The Australian Women's Weekly, Kidman revealed she conceived Sunday Rose while filming her forthcoming movie, Australia, in Kununurra, Western Australia and it was the Kununurra waters that Kidman and the crew swam in that worked their magic.

'Nothing happened in a small way on this film…we had heat and torrential rains and equine flu and then I got pregnant,' explains Kidman.

'Seven babies were conceived out of this film and only one was a boy. There is something up there in the Kununurra water because we all went swimming in the waterfalls, so we can call it the fertility waters now,' reveals the A-lister.

Kidman also spoke openly about the pregnancy itself, explaining just how she snapped back in to shape following the birth. 'I'm so lucky I'm so tall, so I carried small, and also, I have to say, I had a birth that I was blessed with, a labour that was very good and a baby that was very good to me in that regard.'

Giving an insight on just how she's finding motherhood, the actress admitted: 'It's exhausting, but I think at this age it's more like spellbinding to me. To be given this again is a beautiful thing. To have raised Bella and Connor since I was 24 and now to be able to do it again at 41 – wow. But I'm ready and I love children, and love the connection, and to be needed. Who doesn't want to be needed?'
