Sharon Stone loses custody of son

Sharon Stone has lost custody of her eight-year-old son to her ex-husband Phil Bronstein.

A court order, obtained by US TV show Entertainment Tonight, states the actress no longer has physical custody of Roan, whom the couple adopted when he was only a week old.

According to court documents from 12 September, newspaper editor Bronstein will have ‘permanent sole physical custody of child’ unless Stone moves closer to Bronstein in San Francisco, where Roan attends school.

Minutes from the court hearing read: ‘The court does not find that (a) move away is in child's best interest.

'Court finds that (Bronstein) can provide a more structured continuity, stable, secure, and consistent home that child, Roan, needs. (Bronstein) shall have permanent sole physical custody of child.

'Court finds that Respondent (Sharon Stone) failed to meet her burden of proof and denies Respondent's (Sharon Stone's) request for modification of custody. The judge also notes this order is permanent unless there is a change of circumstances.'

The court rejected Stone’s plea to move Roan from school in San Francisco to go to school in LA, where Sharon and her two younger adopted children - Laird Vonne, three and Quinn Kelly, two – live.

Her lawyer, Marty Singer, said Sharon ‘loves her son’, and felt it would be better to have all the children together in LA.

Despite the court documents, Singer insists the actress still has joint physical custody of Roan.
