Victoria Beckham fitness secrets

Victoria Beckham has revealed she’s healthier and happier since moving to LA – and now not only eats more, but also runs four miles a day.

The well-known gym-phobe has ditched her don’t-exercise-and-eat-nothing regime for a healthier attitude towards fitness, and is clocking up four miles a day on the treadmill. She’s even allowing herself carb-loaded toast for breakfast.

In an interview with the Sun, she revealed: ‘I run four miles, seven days a week. I feel energised and healthy — there are really nice gyms here and I just enjoy it. I need that self-discipline to get up in the morning, drop the kids off at school then go to the gym. I can think properly then go home and do some work. But I do feel so much better.

‘David puts music on my iPod and Gordon Ramsay bought me trainers where you have a little chip so you can clock how far you’re running.’

She added: ‘Yes, I am eating more. I think you do eat more when you’re working out. And you want to eat healthily, so it’s good all round.’

Victoria also says she’s curbed her spending habits – and it’s David who spends all the money.

‘I was on the dole once and I remember what it’s like to watch how you spend your money,’ she revealed.

‘I know everything that goes in and out of our accounts. I’d like to think I’m a good businesswoman, I’m learning a lot along the way. David definitely spends much more money than I do.

‘I don’t really go shopping any more — apart from the flea market I go to every Sunday. You can get some amazing vintage stuff there.

‘That’s often where I get inspiration for my designs.’

And her fashion empire is going from strength to strength. Posh said she’s extremely pleased with how everything is working out in LA.

‘There was a time when I did get battered quite badly,’ she said. ‘It felt like I couldn’t do anything right, so I didn’t go anywhere.

‘I worked hard, kept my head down, looked after the kids, looked after David and quietly got on with my fashion work.

‘And now, sitting here today, I feel so proud of what I’ve achieved.

‘I’ve just got back from New York Fashion Week where the dresses I’ve designed got really positive feedback. The response has been absolutely mindblowing, I couldn’t have asked for more.’

Not only that, the Beckhams are over the moon about their his-and-hers fragrance line, which they’re just about to launch at Macy’s in America.

‘We’ve just had some great news from our fragrance business — it’s now worth £109million at retail, and we haven’t even scratched the surface in America with that yet — that’s not including my jeans or sunglasses range.’

She concluded: ‘I can genuinely say I’m content and happy at the moment.

'I don’t really give a sh*t what people think about me. I’m more grown up now and I’ve learned not to care so much what people say.

‘It feels fantastic that everything I’ve worked so hard for over the past five years is coming together. I feel proud of myself because I’ve worked for it and, let’s face it, I don’t have to.

‘I’ve been on the covers of Vogue, I’m respected in the fashion industry, and Anna Wintour (US Vogue’s editor-in-chief) takes my calls.’

Running and toast? My word, she better watch out. An unwanted ounce or two might creep in there.

I couldn't care less what this person of no importance does or doesn't do.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU.
YOU DESERVE THE CREDIT.

Does anyone else think this sounds like her talking us into believing that everything's OK, and that she is respected in the fashion industry. I thought her last line of jeans ended up in the bargain bins because they were too skinny for normal women to wear!

Well done Victoria! I think there's something to be said about a woman taking every chance she has to make a name for herself, i think you look great and you've really made a success of youself. I bet your parents are so proud. Congrats!

I think its unfair the way people judge Victoria - she is blessed to be in her position and why shouldn't she enjoy it. I think she looks beautiful with her pixie haircut and is definitely a trend setter and although people love to hate the Beckhams - they should realise that they are probably one of the most normal celebrities out there and why shouldn't they strive to self - improve - we all should try and be the best we can be in any field we find ourselves in and being at the top of their careers comes great responsibility they are role models to teen and young adults that just because you are famous does not mean you should do drugs, fall out of endless nightclubs drunk as a skunk and be promiscuous. To conclude Vicky you go gal!

Her designs were fab and if they'd been shown by Kate Moss you would all be falling over yourselves to snap them up. Good luck Victoria

God guys - give her a break! I bet you know people, if not yourself that have brought into the VB brand! She's worked for it, at least she's not sat on her arse and done F-all! They are both generous with charities and she's been through the mill - god I never thought I'd say this, but I would love to be in her position, lovely kids, great career (now she's staying away from the singing that lets face it she wasn't so hot at!) and she can be so creative! I'd swap her any day! And she's getting there with her weight, a few more kilo's and she'll be set...anyone that has had eating problems knows its not easy to overcome! Good on ya Vic!

Victoria Beckham needs to eat a sandwich and know that if she smiled....her face wouldn't break! Just the negative energy she emanates is enough to make anyone run for the hills. What a load of rubbish that she doesn't care what others think and that she is finally happy? Finally? Please!

Way to go Posh for going after your dreams! There's really too much negativity out there. Maybe we can learn something. She's definitely a go getter!

I think its admirable that she's making a name for herself. Granted, all of her fashion line is exorbitantly priced far exceeding what any everyday schmo like you or me could ever dream of affording. But hey... God Bless America and God bless capitalism. She seems to have found a place to spread.
Comment by MollyGirl on September 23 08:20

I have never been fan of her, but I do understand her saying she's proud of herself. Despite of tons of critics she tries to make her own way. And she really does not have to!!!Good for her. However she is, deserves to live the life she wants and likes. .... and people are jelous of her. husband, kids, money, etc. I am sure the Pinot Grigio population has the most to say....

Victoria is a pain and by no means special.
Comment by eileen on September 23 19:34
