Keira Knightley dressed to impress last night in a stunning Chanel dress at the New York premiere of The Duchess.

The high-necked black satin number with silver leaf shoulder and waist embroidery was the perfect look to grace New York during Fashion Week.

Keira's whirlwind tour to promote her latest period drama has seen her work a myriad of looks – from lesser known designer Alexis Mabille's creation, which the actress donned for the London premiere, to Marc Jacobs' beautiful strapless dove grey gown Keira sported at the Toronto Film Festival.

And as if her style status needed an extra boost, Keira was joined on the red carpet by fashion doyenne and NBF Anna Wintour.

The screening was backed by US Vogue and Chanel and the pair were all smiles for the waiting cameras - well, you would be as the magazine's September cover girl and the face of the global fashion brand...
