Natasha Bedingfield gets engaged

Natasha Bedingfield has got engaged to her American businessman boyfriend.

The singer was all smiles at Calvin Klein's 40th anniversary party in New York at the weekend, where Bedingfield decided to break the news that she will marry her boyfriend of two years, Matthew Robinson.

The 26-year-old was keen to show off her diamond rock to the waiting cameras at the event and made a point of stopping on the red carpet to tell People magazine: 'It just happened. But I am so excited and it happened in New York. And I want to share it with the world.'

The beaming singer revealed they have not made any wedding plans yet and no date has been set. 'We're just celebrating,' she cooed.

Dressed, fittingly, in a white pencil skirt and matching top, the Unwritten singer proved her star status Stateside by appearing at New York's biggest fashion week party, Fashion Rocks, last Friday. Bedingfield teamed up with divas Mariah Carey and Beyoncé to sing Just Stand Up.

When pushed to reveal a little more about her future husband, Bedingfield gushed: 'What should I say about him? I'm in love! He's a businessman and really is a good balance for my career because he's always a solid rock that I just feel very comfortable with, and I feel very loved.'
