It was a huge cast ensemble who hit the red carpet for last night's LA premiere of new comedy, The Women.

Hollywood ladies Eva Mendes, Meg Ryan, Annette Bening, Debra Messing and Jada Pinkett Smith all donned their gladrags and hit the star-studded event to promote their new sassy comedy, The Women, about female friendships and in particular, Meg Ryan's battle with her cheating husband's mistress.

The movie cast is a who's who of Tinseltown's female faces, with Bette Midler, Carrie Fisher and Debi Mazar joining the clan.

It may have been an evening of girl power, but the cast's hubbies were in attendance, with Will Smith on wife Jada's arm and Warren Beaty turning out for his other half Annette Bening.

The ladies played it safe in the style stakes, with Meg looking effortlessly elegant in a stunning purple floorlength gown and Eva Mendes opting for a more grown-up style in a high-necked monochrome shift dress.

Debra Messing and Demi Mazar both chose the ubiquitous prom dress, indicating the voluminous style will be a big hit for red carpet style this season.
