Elton John and Lily Allen's onstage fight
By Lucy Hutchings on Wednesday 3 September 2008
Elton John and Lily Allen embarked on a scathing war of words last night, as they jointly presented the GQ Men of the Year Awards at London's Royal Opera House.
Although the pair started off as the perfect hosts, Elton grew visibly frustrated by Allen's behaviour as the night wore on, before snapping at her onstage.

As the Smile singer announced '...and now the most important part of the night', Elton quickly added, 'What? Are you going to have another drink?'
Allen quickly fired back, 'F*** off Elton. I am 40 years younger than you and have my whole life ahead of me!'
Not one to back down, Elton retorted, 'I could still snort you under the table.'
Obviously offended, she then ended the exchange with 'F*** off. I don't know what you are talking about.'
Elton wasn't the only attendee that Lily clearly annoyed. On introducing her brother Alfie's girlfriend Jaime Winstone, she called her 'my very soon-to-be sister-in-law.' Encouraging her then to show off a ring, Winstone could be seen to be visibly mouthing 'Shh, no one is supposed to know.'
The 23-year-old singer started off the night as the picture of elegance, arriving at the ceremony in a voluminous strapless ball gown.
According to the Daily Mail, this didn't last long, as she started to slur, swear and ad lib on stage, much to the annoyance of her co-host.
The awards ceremony attracted a host of glamorous stars. Elle Macpherson, Liz Hurley, Thandie Newton were all enlisted to present awards to the Men of the Year, which included Gordon Ramsay, Mark Ronson and London Mayor Boris Johnson.

What do they expect hiring a girl who is only really famous because of her father....so dull all these so-called famous off-spring! Pixie is another example. They lack in talent and definately have no style!

What do you expect, she's only young and enjoying herself. Maybe some forward planning could have been used, think back to the Brits debacle!

It's very sad that as a great nation, we've allowed this kind of people, became role models for our next generation and be part of our society. This is not a first time for her to be in a headline. We should not pay any more attention to her by making a news or selling magazine out of her poorly behaviour.

Although not a huge fan of her music I have nothing but respect for this young woman. In this climate of personality deficient celebrity her 'warts and all' approach to fame is a breath of fresh air. Where people like Kate Moss can capitalize on their drug taking, and myriad other talentless tarts that abound the media with nothing to offer than a pretty face and tight clothing, this young woman is more relatable than any of them. She is not perfect, she has her own opinions and she will not be intimidated by the corporate industry, Lily Allen..your every girls hero! :)
