Natalie Portman wins 'humanity award'

Natalie Portman has won a 'humanity award' for her dedication to social causes at the Venice Film Festival.

The 27-year-old picked up the honour for her work with Jane Goodall Institute, which gives women in poor countries access to education.

The Other Boleyn Girl star isn't just getting attention for her charity work at the Venice Film Festival – she's also wowing the crowds in a series of fabulous dresses.

Last night, she shone in a midnight-blue Miu Miu dress from the autumn/winter 08 collection, which she donned for the Kineo Diamanti al Cinema" Awards Ceremony at the Hotel Des Bains.

The actress will also be showcasing her directorial debut, Eve, at the prestigious festival this week.
