Cynthia Nixon joins ITV drama
Cynthia Nixon is set to appear in the eagerly-anticipated Quentin Crisp drama, An Englishman in New York.
The actress, who played uptight lawyer Miranda Hobbs in Sex and the City, is set to play performance artist and playwright Penny Arcade in the follow up to Quentin drama The Naked Civil Servant.
John Hurt will reprise his role as Crisp, while other American actors star, including Denis O'Hare, who plays Rob Lowe's manager in US drama Brothers and Sisters.
Nixon's character was a close friend of the writer, and the pair created The Last Will and Testament of Quentin Crisp, in which Arcade interviewed him on stage.
Filming on An Englishman in New York began this week and the drama will air next year.
