How to get into ...

Jessica Alba's diet secrets

By Ruth Doherty  on Wednesday 20 August 2008

Marie Claire News: Jessica Alba

Jessica Alba is back to her picture-perfect best after losing 25 lbs - just two months after giving birth to daughter Honor Marie.

And her trainer has revealed her weight loss weapons to People magazine.

'Jessica went from a size 8 (GB 12) to a size 4 (GB 8) pretty quickly,' says her longtime trainer Ramona Braganza.

The actress showcased her new slimline silhouette at the ALMA Awards on 17 August in a stunning baby-pink dress.

The actress has been following Braganza's 321 Baby Bulge Be Gone plan, which is a low-fat, low-carb diet.

The 27-year-old has also been hitting the treadmill and elliptical machine at home, and has resumed her routine of core exercises, cardio and circuit training.

Braganza, who trains Alba six days a week, says: 'The baby always comes first, but Jessica definitely sets goals for herself.'

And working out with a gal pal also helps. 'She loves working out with a girlfriend,' says Braganza, whose client, Jamie King, frequently trains with Jessica.

Braganza added: 'Jessica has made amazing progress in a very short time.'

Sorry, she is no size four. Maybe a six or eight.

Excuse me but article says GB size 8, Drew. Which is a very nice size. Size 4 can look awful and unsexy on most frames (nothing wrong with you if you're just naturally tiny of course :-)) and Jessica has a lovely figure.

It can't be good for your body to punish it like that. Nine months on and nine months off again is surely healthier and more sustainable in the long run?

Size 4? So what is that huge chest on a tiny waist? It looks so unnatural it's laughable, she looks like she could topple over with that overhung bust!

What has happened to the days of just enjoying motherhood and getting back to your original weight slowly?

I really can't understand new mothers punishing themselves for doing one of the most natural things in the world. I'm not trying to be mother earth here, but after having my son, I did not dream of training until he was at least three months old and until my body was ready.

Giving birth can be so traumatic on the body and your body needs to recover first and not put through grueling training session.

They have no idea how much damage they are doing to themselves.

I'm a mother of three age 24 and I think she looks fine, I don't doubt that she lost the weight quick as I did, I lost it almost immediately after my children came out with no exercise or diets. I'm pretty much back to my high school weight I used to weigh 104 in high school, I now weigh 114 as a mother. I don't starve myself either my heritage is one that loves food. So before you judge her and talk about her chest (which she breastfeeds) I looked "unnatural" after I had my children a little heavy in the chest area. She's looks fine! Most women go to work when the baby's only 3 months, she is trying to do the same, her work calls for her to be healthy.

Cate you don't sound jealous at all do you?!

Us ladies with our naturally bigger busts and tiny waists our proud.....it's called an hourglass figure.....not everone in this world was born a plank....and quite frankly i'd rather have a womanly venus figure than a 12 year ol'd school boys.
