Christina Applegate clear of cancer
Christina Applegate says she's free of breast cancer after receiving treatment for the disease.
The former Married with Children star – who's also currently the star of US sitcom Samantha Who? – revealed on Good Morning America: 'I'm clear. Absolutely 100% clear and clean. They got everything out so I'm definitely not going to die from breast cancer.'
The blonde actress, who was diagnosed a month ago, also revealed the cancer was discovered in the second of two MRI tests done as a follow-up to a biopsy performed last year, according to People.com
How did she react to the news? 'I was so mad and I, I just remember I was shaking. And then also immediately I had to go in to take-care-of-business mode. I asked them, "What do I do now? I get a doctor, I get a surgeon, I get an oncologist? What do I do?"'
But it looks like the star is on her way back to perfect health, which is fantastic news for her.

I note Christina Applegate comment that she is absolutely clear of breast cancer. I am glad that she feels so positive about the future, life is so precious, but once you have had cancer you always are a higher risk of a reoccurance, hence it is very difficult to get any life or travel insurance. Your perspective on life changes. I have myself been in remission from breast cancer for 12 years. I wish her well.

Reading about celebrities, particularly those in your own age group, being diagnosed with and fighting cancer can be frightening. It really hits home how fragile life is and that it can happen to any of us. However, those brave enough to speak openly and share their experiences have my complete respect. It's no doubt a time where they would prefer the privacy of not being celebrities, but recognise the position they are in to help raise awareness and project a positive outlook which helps to comfort others. Christina Applegate, Kylie, Sheryl Crow, Anastasia etc stc are amazing role models and have shown that a positive cancer diagnosis does not have to be the end of the world.
