The red carpet season kicked off with a bang this weekend with the 2008 ALMA Awards, the American Latino Media Awards.

Eva Longoria Parker was crowned this year's host and rose to the occasion, arriving on the red carpet with husband, Tony Parker, wearing a stunning teal cocktail dress.

The actress proved her fashion credentials by incorporating the statutory hostess costume change during the evening, donning a stunning floor-length asymmetric red dress.

One fashion critic, Steve Cojocaru, commented: 'The Latin stars really know how to dress up. They're not afraid of their sexuality. Eva has the curves. She walks in, and she's happy.'

Eva was joined by a host of stars including Jessica Alba, America Ferrera, Ana Ortiz and Paula Abdul.
