Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are set to tie the knot in California this weekend, according to US reports.

Ellen, 50, announced that she was planning to wed girlfriend Portia, 35 – who she’s been dating since December 2004 - on
her show in May.

The news came following the California Supreme Courts recent ruling that same-sex couples have the right to marry.

Ellen is set to marry Portia – who she describes as her 'perfect fit' – in a small, intimate ceremony with just a close group of friends and family in attendance.

'It's something that we've wanted to do and we want it to be legal and we are very, very excited,' Ellen said.

And of preparations for the big day, she laughed: 'Planning a wedding is very stressful. It's crazy. My gardener is now invited.'

Many, many congratulations to you both Ellen and Portia. My partner and I just celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary this week. We wish we could do it all again!
