Joss Stone lands Tudors TV role

Marie Claire Celebrity News: Joss Stone

She exploded on to the singing scene with her powerful soulful voice, and now Joss Stone is eager to take the acting world by storm – and has signed up to star in a not-so-pretty role in TV hit The Tudors.

The 21-year-old will play Henry VIII's fourth wife, German Anne of Cleves, who the king married after seeing a flattering portrait of her.

But the disappointed king – played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers – will storm out of the bedroom when he realises she's not as pretty as he first thought.

An insider told the Sun: 'Producers want Joss in a pretty bad state but she thinks it’s a stepping stone to acting roles in the USA.'
