New Bond theme tune

Alicia Keys

It might seem like an unlikely pairing, but Alicia Keys and Jack White have recorded the theme tune to the next Bond film, Quantum of Solace.

The R&B singer has joined forces with the frontman for rock bands White Stripes and The Raconteurs for the song entitled Another Way To Die and the pair have made history with the first ever duet in Bond theme history.

Rumours had mounted that Amy Winehouse or newcomers Leona Lewis or Duffy were both in the running for the job, but in the end the British stars all lost out.

Winehouse had been working with music producer pal Mark Ronson on a theme for the new Daniel Craig movie, but the material was scrapped because Ronson believed the singer was not up to the job, owing to her incessant health issues.

Critics are already predicting a raw and unique sound from Keys and White who have brought their soulful and bluesy rock together. White has written, produced and played drums on the new track.

Producers of the upcoming movie, due for release in November said: 'We are delighted and pleased to have two such exciting artists as Jack and Alicia.'
