Amy Winehouse out of hospital

Amy Winehouse has returned home from hospital after receiving emergency treatment for a reaction to medication.

The singer stayed in overnight for observation at London's University College hospital and a hospital spokeswoman said Winehouse was in good spirits after a 'comfortable night'.

The troubled star is now at home in Camden resting. Her manager Chris Goodman commented: 'She had a bit of a scare yesterday because of a reaction to treatment. She was kept in overnight purely for observation.'

Goodman would not confirm reports that Winehouse had experienced fits before the ambulance arrived.

Despite the soul singer's much-publicised battle against crack cocaine, her father Mitch Winehouse believes his daughter's admission to hospital was down to her drink being spiked with ecstasy, giving her convulsions.

Although the official line was that Winehouse had had an adverse reaction to the medication she is taking to help beat her cocaine addiction, her 54-year-old father reportedly believes her drink was laced and has raised his concerns with the police.

One source revealed: 'Mitch is furious. He's certain someone put E in Amy's drink - and he's determined to get to the bottom of it.

'If his suspicicions are proved right, he wants someone to be punished. He is seriously unhappy about Amy's flat being a stop-over for randoms and wants an end to it.'
