Ethan Hawke marries nanny

Ethan Hawke has married the woman he and ex-wife Uma Thurman hired to be their nanny in a secret ceremony in New York.



The actor's publicist, Mara Buxbaum, confirmed that Ethan and Ryan Shawhughes married in a secret NY ceremony last month, but said: 'No further details are available.'



The news comes just two weeks after Hawke's former wife Uma Thurman announced her engagement to businessman Arpad 'Arki' Busson, who has two children with his ex, Elle Macpherson.



Hawke, 37, and Thurman, 38, have two children together - daughter Maya Ray, ten, and son Levon Roan, six. They separated in 2003 and their divorce was finalised two years later.



The Training Day star first met Shawhughes when he and Thurman hired her to be their nanny, although he has always maintained their relationship didn't become romantic until after he was divorced.
