Madonna pal splits with wife

As Madonna’s rep denies rumours that the singer has a romantic interest in baseball star Alex Rodriguez, his devastated wife has fled to Paris – and is staying with Lenny Kravitz.

News of the Rodriguezs' split comes just two months after Cynthia gave birth to their second child, a daughter named Ella. A source close to the couple told the New York Daily News that they’ve been ‘having problems for about three months’.

Kravitz says Cynthia is staying in the French capital to escape the rumours in the US surrounding her husband, and vehemently denies an affair. He told US Weekly: ‘There is absolutely no affair between Cynthia Rodriguez and myself.

'This is unequivocally 100% per cent not true. Cynthia is a friend and is here with the godfather of her baby, who is also Alex's trainer, his wife and their baby girl.

'She came here to escape from everything happening in New York City. I opened my home to her as a friend and I find it extremely hurtful that I am now being referred to as an adulterer.’

Rumours started circulating last week that Alex, a baseball player with the New York Yankees, had grown close to Madonna. She is said to have introduced him to the Jewish faith Kabbalah.

He is said to have made several late-night visits to her city apartment at Central Park, while she was seen in his VIP seats at a Yankees game on 22 June.

There have been a flurry of reports that Guy Ritchie is battling to save his marriage to Madonna, but her rep, Liz Rosenberg, has denied both the divorce rumours, and any speculation over an affair.

Well, there is no smoke without fire! My ex and the woman of a couple we used to go out with occasionally - also said they were best friends! She left her husband in Sep 2001 and my ex left in Oct 2001 - and they kept on seeing each other - saying they were only friends - but the girl's husband and I knew there was more to it - they just wanted to keep it low key in order not to rock the boat when it came to divorce settlements and to cheat me of quickly selling the marital home so they could then buy a house together! So - when a man says to his wife, we're just good friends, let warning signs ring!!!!

Flippin' heck - it's like musical beds? How nice to be able to jet off to Paris when the going gets tough - whilst those of us living in the real world just have to get on with it.
