Madonna denies divorce

Madonna.html">Madonna's rep has denied the recent rumours of the star's alleged impending divorce from Guy Ritchie, and has hit out at speculation she is having an affair.

It has been reported in the tabloids that Madonna has been receving late-night visits from baseball star Alex Rodriguez.

According to the Daily Mail, the 32-year-old New York Yankee – who earns $28 million a year – has been spotted leaving the singer's Central Park West apartment, arriving alone on each occasion, and leaving as late as midnight.

The sports star cheered on Madonna's performance at New York's Roseland Ballroom on 30 April, while she, in turn, enjoyed a Yankees game on 22 June.

In February, he was among the star-studded crowd at a gala hosted by the 49-year-old in aid of her Raising Malawi charity fund.

But, Madonna's rep, Liz Rosenberg, denies both the rumours of an affair, and dismisses the recent divorce rumours, too.

She told People magazine: 'Madonna's husband Guy arrived in New York last night to be with his wife and family (not in a last ditch attempt to save his marriage which does not need saving). There are no plans for Madonna and Guy to divorce.'

Of Madonna's friendship with Rodriguez, Liz said: 'Madonna and Alex have the same manager, Guy Oseary. They have met. They know each other and Madonna took her kids to a Yankees game last week. There's really not anything to comment on beyond that.'

She added: 'It's nothing new that people are airing tons of dirty laundry Madonna's way lately – much of it untrue.'
