Kate Moss's see-through chic
By Ruth Doherty on Thursday 19 June 2008
Kate Moss ensured a few jaws scraped along the floor as she enjoyed a night out with her daughter in a see-through dress - sans underwear.
Daring Kate left all inhibitions - and her bra - at home when she headed out with boyfriend Jamie Hince and her daughter Lila Grace to an exhibition of photographs by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggot in Istanbul, Turkey.
The supermodel donned a polka-dot print sheer maxidress, which she accessorised with oversized gypsy-style earrings and a matching coin bracelet.
Although we can't deny she looks fantastic, it seemed a slightly strange choice for the predominantly Muslim country - and an evening out with Lila.
But at least she's got fashion guts!
The gorgeous model is currently the cover girl of the current issue of W magazine, which was shot by Bruce Weber, and is pictured sexily sandwiched between Daria Werbowy and Lara Stone.

So typical of Kate Moss' boring attitude.

Kate looks great - love the dress, but public exposure isn't a 'look'. Whats wrong with wearing a bra or a nude slip, or at least nipple covers. I'm sure she realised before she left the house, not to mention how disrespectful it is to the general Turkish population to be flashing your bits, even if they are a more liberal muslim nation than many. If we expect people to respect our culture when they come to the UK, we should respect theirs likewise and Kate has proffered herself as a British icon and therefore an international ambassador.

I'm absolutely disgusted by the fact Kate has dared to wear that whilst in the company of her own child, where are her morals & standards? Does she really want her daughter to grow & wear stuff like that? I'm absolutely outraged!

What a freak she is! She should respect other countries religion and fashion requirement. Such disrespectful attitude requires no respect from anyone! Kunyah

she knows shes got it , she does'nt have to prove anything, she'll continue to lead whilst others will follow

It must be one of those marketing hangups. She has her own range of lingerie. One would have thought that the idea of having her named brand is to show her wearing them!

Why do these celeb's think that they have to do these things? forget your knickers etc...and with her child with her, she's just badly dressed.
Comment by joanna hobson on June 19 12:28
Fair play to her, but any other time but not on a night out with her daughter!

I usually am quite liberal minded - but going out with her young daughter wearing nothing? A sad example, not that she was ever a good one.
Comment by karen h on June 19 13:45
I feel sorry for her young daughter having a mother who flash her bits for the world to see.
Comment by Trisha on June 19 21:41
DISGUSTING! Not only an embarassment in front of her child by teaching her that it's alright to go out without underwear and flashing your bits, but disrespectful to the country that she is visiting. It's the equivalent of putting two fingers up to a country that already thinks little of western women.

I don't see a problem; Its just a body and its natural.
Her daughter probably doesn't realise the controversy and is learning a lesson that its OK not to hide like society demands.. We're just used to covering ourselves without reason or logic.
Comment by Helena on June 19 22:28
Quite the insult to Turkey. Turkey is a modern and pretty open minded country but maintains high moral standards nonetheless. Also I can't but wonder how her child is going to grow up. If Lila respects herself and her body when she's older it will be very surprising with Kate as a 'mother'. I'd be very embarrassed if I was her child.

Leave her alone. She looks lovely!
Comment by jjazznola on June 20 07:21
sorry helena, but would you have written the same if she was overweight???
Comment by v on June 20 16:43
Is the dress actually see-through though, or is it a case, as with many papp-snapped celebrities, where the camera flash has made the fabric seem to be more sheer than it really is? I know Kate Moss likes to be on the front pages, but you'd hope she wouldn't do something to upset a whole country.
Comment by Jodie on June 21 11:09
Before one flaunts something, it's probably best to ensure there's actually something there to flaunt.

Not a good look from skeletal Miss Moss, and to wear it when you go out with your young child - where are her priorities??
Comment by elaine on June 22 14:48
ahahaha!!! She needs to get some Nippies from Bristols 6 stat! They even make an "A size" version, which is perfect for Kate. I can't believe she would leave the house with her nips showing like that....quite embarrassing!!!

I'm in two minds about this get-up, maybe if it was a day out on the BEACH/with friends. But on a night out in a different country with a child?! I personally wouldn't. However - part of me feels somewhat liberated to see she is a MODEL confident to show her beautiful body off! At least she's not sticking her fingers down her throat eh? She looks lovely also....

In these times where fashion is less current as an ideal & almost any style you can think goes it seems to be logical to accept that each individual should have the right to dress as they please. I wouldn't acept blatant critisim of what I or any lady accompanying me wore, so I won't add fuel to the fire here. After all, this is mostly paparazzi sensationalism & age old "morals" applied by many who have no morals - such as mutual respect of each others rights. So if if OK for her, it's OK by me - no one is making everyone do the same, are they? And if you don't appreciate her courage & her confidence then there's always the mouse to click, or muscles in your neck to turn away.
