Marie Claire Celebrity News: Wayne Rooney and Coleen McLoughlin

Wayne Rooney and Coleen McLoughlin may not yet be married, but the celebrations are already in full swing.

The couple threw a pre-wedding masked ball on Tuesday night, on a 230ft £80 million yacht, anchored off the bay of Portofino. The black and white themed event saw Coleen don a white backless gown, and the groom in a smart tuxedo.

Sixty guests wore gold masks as they were entertained by a live band.

The couple have hired the £75,000 a day yacht for five days leading up to the wedding, and the bride-to-be was spotted spending the day on it yesterday, topping up her tan.

Speaking to The Sun, a friend of the couple revealed, 'It was a fantastic night. Champagne and cocktails were flowing.'

The couple are expected to marry today, at a civil ceremony at the Villa Durazo in Santa Margherita, with a wedding breakfast to take place at former monastery La Cervara.

Probably best that Wayne Rooney has a mask on for the whole of the wedding....and as for Coleen, well it’s a far cry from George at Asda - its obscene how much money the so called wedding of the year has cost – disgusting!

This so called show is disgusting!!! Half the world is starving - Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, India, China, Burma, and these 2 disrespectful people can show such insensitivity to all and sundry!!! Footballers and their wags don't live in the real world!! Why don't they donate one week's salary to the disaster zones and orphanages and aid workers in the above-mentioned hot spots, they indulge in obscene depravity because magazines pay for it all - so it's not coming out of their pockets anyway. I think ordinary people need to boycott OK magazine and stop their curiosity about celebs - it's just all out of control how much money these so called nonenities can command!!! Will it stop Rooney going back to prostitutes?? Has Coleen got him under a tight leash?? Only time will tell!!!!

This wedding is so over the top - they are such selfish people spending millions on a big fuss of a marriage ceremony when they are are people dying all over the world with not a single bob to their name! Shame on them!

People live to their means. Luckily for them, Wayne and Coleen have the money to be able to fund the wedding of their dreams! I mean this is the most un-rudest way, but the other comments seem a little jealous like. If you had their money, I am sure that you would like a lavish wedding. It is the lifetstyle and circle that they live in. Give them a break they are young and happy and can do what they want with their OWN money! I am sure it wont be going on a credit card, that's for sure!

Leave them alone! It's their hard earned money no one else, surely it's up to them how they spend it and if they want a flash wedding why not!! How would you feel if everyone commented on how you should be spending your dosh, cut them some slack!

How these two people spend their money is up to them. They both work for a living in their chosen professions. If they want to to have nice things and spend that amount of money on their special day - let them.

How do you know that they don't already support charities of their choice or send money etc.. to help the areas montioned.

Also if magazines want to pay a fee to delve into celebraties lives is up to them and the contracts made. Only people interested will buy these magazines.

I think it's there choice how they want to spend their money, they have earned it! It's not everyday there going to get married is it? Of course everyone wants a big wedding! They both are really hard working and I'm sure they are not selfish, they give to charity as well.

And I for one am interested !! it allows me vicariously be privvy to the glam lifestyle for the price of a mag ! so i can keep saving the pennies for my dream Louboutin's
Anyway, why pick on them, the average wedding in this country costs 20k ... ask the average couple not to have all the trimmmings to their big day and and donate it to the starving.
