Brangelina nanny tells all
By Ruth Doherty on Thursday 29 May 2008
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's children are out of control, according to a former nanny who has sold her story to a US magazine.
Their former employee told Star magazine that Angelina and Brad’s super-laidback parenting style often leaves their four kids – Maddox, Pax, Zahara and Shiloh – running amok.
She revealed: ‘Angelina doesn’t believe in old-fashioned restrictions because she finds them oppressive. So her rule is to have few rules.'
According to the spy, a day at Brad and Angelina’s can involve chaotic tea-times (the children can have whatever they want to eat), children chiming in different languages (Maddox only wants to speak French), six televisions blaring in the background and constant deliveries of clothes and toys.
Another alleged decision that has raised some eyebrows is Brangelina’s plans to allow their four children to accompany them into the delivery room when Angelina gives birth to twins in France this July.

So what that they're running about in their own home!? Pictures taken in public always show them to be well behaved, so their parents can't be doing that bad a job!

I don't much like Brangelina, but it sounds like a happy household to me! And frankly I think letting the kids watch the birth is an EXCELLENT idea. That way the girls won't be scared of the unknown when it's their turn, and they'll all be less likely to be jealous of the twins because they'll feel part of the excitement.

Adults eat whatever they want - why shouldn't children have choices too?

Sounds like a fairly normal house to me!

Wow! Some really enlightened comments and I absolutely agree, I just wouldn't want to live in that house myself. It must be hard work to be a nanny in that environment but I'm sure she was really well paid.

The parenting sounds great to me, I treat my children how i wish to be treated.. with respect and freedom of choice as they do. Keep it up is what i say life is too short to have unimportant restrictions!

Just think of the education these children are getting, they are learning multiple languages in a safe and happy atmosphere. They are allowed to expess themselves and she never said that any of them were mean or disrespectful. It sounds like a fabulous place to grow up. As for the delivery, any child growing up on a farm watches animals give birth every year, it is part of the life cycle.

Some people will do anything for money. I am sure when she was employed that Angelina and Brad did not think she would sell her story. It seems very disloyal to me. At the end of the day they are bringing their children up how they want to which is their business. Who is to say that their style of parenting is wrong?

Can't really find anything wrong with how they're bringing up their children. I think they should be congratulated because they are teaching their children that first of all there can be harmony between different colours and races, and they're learning different languages naturally. As for the children, aren't all children slightly unruly? I would be worried if I ever have a kid who is too quiet... Keep up the good work Brangelina, I think they're a lovely couple, seeking to help people in need, and giving children a nice safe environment to live in!

The decision on whether you wish your children to share the birth of their new sibling should be the parents and based on their previous birthing experience. Angelina obviously had a positive experience and feels comfortable with having her other children around her.
Brad and Angelina's decision not to inflict rules on their children is their decision and if the nanny was not happy with it then she should have declined job. It is important that children are safe, cared-for and loved not that they are constantly being restricted by rules. As for "running amock" aren't they still young and therefore need to run around and explore their environment, also burn off energy in order to sleep peacefully. They are lucky to have the room to do this in their home environment I used to take mine to the local park.

Everybody needs boundaries--that's how society works---if these kids don't learn some boundaries, they'll grow up with a sense of entitlement--that everyone has to cater to their needs and wants. Hopefully they'll turn out wonderful, and not become someone else's nightmare. And yes, I've known kids raised like this---who haven't lived up to their potential and are not exactly beloved by those around them. I'd love to see SuperNanny turned loose in the Brangelina household!

To reduce pandemonium, a middle ground can be reached between too many rules and too few rules. Children are not little adults. They need parental guidance while growing up. Otherwise, they grow up unsure of everything. We aren't born adults.

I am quite shocked, if indeed this at all true. It may be they didn't think much of her as a nanny and sacked her so she got some payback. How do we really know what the truth is? These kinds of statements sell papers don't they? As for the delivery, if she gives birth herself this time then I would say if they are OK about it then go ahead, no problem in that. Being butchered of course is unnatural and not something young children should be around.
Anyway, everyone sells a story on a celeb every now and then, what's new? Not sure I believe this one. Why is she selling her story when they could sue her? Better hope it's true for this woman's sake!

I say wait another 10 to 12 years + some and then we will see how well their parenting skills were. Adopt the world and not actually raise them...someone will pay. Better be saving some of that money, your careers can only last so long after that you have 5 kids (so far) that can cost you so serious $$$$$$. Wait and see.
