Kirsten Dunst breaks rehab silence

Kirsten Dunst has revealed the real reason she sought help in rehab was to conquer her depression demons – and not, as reports have suggested, to be treated for alcohol and drug addiction.

Dunst checked into the Cirque Lodge Treatment Centre in Utah – where fellow actresses Eva Mendes and Lindsay Lohan have also sought treatment – in February.

‘I was struggling, and I had the opportunity to go somewhere and take care of myself,’ Dunst, 26, tells E! Online. ‘I was fortunate to have the resources to do it. My friends and family thought it was a good idea, too.’

When Dunst entered rehab in February, another friend told People that the actress had been feeling low for some time. ‘She's been crying a lot lately,’ the source said. ‘Everybody hits that bottom where you feel [so] scared that that one heavy night of partying can really wake you up. It's good she's getting herself help.’

As to why she she’s lifting the lid on rehab now, she says: ‘Now that I'm feeling stronger, I was prepared to say something ... Depression is pretty serious and should not be gossiped about.’

Good on you Kirsten, it's great that your getting help and to be open and honest about it really makes the rest of us feel better about not feeling on top of the world every day of the year!
