SATC premieres in New York

The day has finally arrived, the Sex and the City movie hits UK cinema screens today following the NY premiere in the show's home town last night.

All four girls looked as stunning as ever, with Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Kim Cattrall all opting for metallic hues, whereas Cynthia Nixon wowed in a white Narciso Rodriguez gown.

SJP would have made Carrie proud with her floor length Nina Ricci silver gown, which was perfectly complimented by 19th century jewels from Fred Leighton.

Cattrall showed she has a new favourite designer, by choosing a Vivienne Westwood meatllic green gown, her designer of choice also for the London premiere earlier this month.

For Davis it was all about New York style, choosing the city's signature designer Donna Karan, for her pleated gold dress.

New cast member Jennifer Hudson also proved she could hold her own against NY's most stylish foursome, looking gorgeous in a bogy hugging gold Peter Soronen dress.

The homecoming premiere also saw appearances by all the SATC boys, including Mr Big himself, Chris Noth, Jason Lewis (Smith) and David Eigenberg (Steve).
