Scarlett Johansson is engaged to her boyfriend of more than a year, actor Ryan Reynolds.



The 23-year-old Lost In Translation actress wasn't shy in showing off her sparkler at last night's Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala in New York and the star's rep has confirmed the news saying; 'They're both thrilled'.



Reynolds, who is currently filming the appropriately titled The Proposal with Sandra Bullock, popped the question to Johansson, but no wedding date has been set yet.



Johansson took to the red carpet at the Costume Institute Gala wearing an ivory strapless D&G gown and flashed her new rock to the waiting cameras.



Mutual friend of the pair, Hugh Jackman, admittedly recently that he feels protective towards Johansson who he co-starred with in magician movie, The Prestige, but he gave Reynolds his blessing saying he is 'one of the funniest guys I've ever met...He's phenomenal.'
