Fergie's Sex and the City: The Movie theme tune

Sassy singer Fergie is putting the funk into Sex and the City: The Movie with her edgy theme tune Labels or Love.

The song gives a nod to the original HBO series by sampling the catchy instrumental theme.

'I grew up watching Sex and the City and I know a lot of my girlfriends did as well,' says Fergie. 'We felt like these characters were our friends, so to be a part of this project has been amazing.'

Fergie's song appears both in the film and on the Sex and the City: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, out on the 27 May. The film hits cinemas on 30 May.

Former American Idol, Jennifer Hudson, who plays Carrie Bradshaw's assistant in the movie, also has a new song on the soundtrack: All Dressed in Love (written by MC Jack Splash and Gnarls Barkley's Cee-Lo Green), which will play over the end credits in the film.

Soul singer India.Arie's cover of Don Henley's Heart of the Matter streams on the official Sex and the City movie web site

Other artists featured on the soundtrack include Nina Simone, Al Green, Joss Stone, and Run-D.M.C. with Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith in their classic Walk This Way.

Disappointed doesn't even describe how we're feeling on the MC desk about this song. None of the SATC girls would so much as toe tap to this dross and why Fergie? She couldn't manage glamour or style if she tried. We can only pray that this doesn't set the tone for the whole movie.

I have to agree, this song is awful. It must have taken all of three minutes to write but, Fergie has been known to manage both glamour and style in the past, like everyone she mnakes mistakes but come on, she's dressed as well as SJP on most occasions i.e. a mess haha
(please take this the way it was intended, tongue firmly in cheek)
