By Ruth Doherty  on Thursday 17 April 2008

Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow

has revealed she suffered with post-natal depression after the birth of her two-year-old son, Moses.

The A-list actress, who is married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, made the revelation in a recent magazine interview. She said: 'I felt really out of my body. I felt really disconnected. I felt really down… I felt pessimistic.'

But the star, who also has another child, daughter Apple, who turns four next month, said she didn't realise she had post-natal depression - which occurs in approximately one in seven women in the UK - until she'd actually recovered.

The Running with Scissors star also revealed she thinks her bout of depression occurred because she stopped undergoing acupuncture while she was pregnant.
