Matt Damon joins Darfur protest
Matt Damon must have been inspired by his friend George Clooney's efforts in raising awareness of the issues in Darfur, because he's now joined a host of celebrities in a campaign to protest against its five years of conflict.
In the series of shots, Damon takes a baseball bat to a child's doll house. The Bourne star was joined by other celebrities, including Jemima Khan and Joely Richardson, in destroying toys and drawings to symbolise how thousands of childhoods in the Sudanese region have been shattered.
Damon said: 'After the genocide in Rwanda we all said never again.'
And Nip/Tuck actress Joely Richardson, who cuts up a teddy bear, added: 'Today we need to demand protection for the most vulnerable. If it were our children being attacked we would demand action.'
There will be protests around the world tomorrow, Global Day for Darfur, including at the Sudanese embassy in London.
